The wonderful thing about Tiggers!…..

March 5, 2010

We’ve been kicking it up a notch the last few days and getting official with the state, partnership agreements, taxes, legal documents, trademarks, etc., so figure it’s now time for a bank account and to pay a few bills.  Essentially, we’ve finally decided to put our money where our mouth is!

Went to a local branch and spent a long time with the banker discussing there different types of accounts, working capital lines, loan options, etc. – it was a very through and very pleased with their services.  Spent a good 45 minutes there doing credit checks and making sure all of our paperwork was in order and finally I  left the meeting feeling all official and professional with our first company account.

Then I came home and thought to myself – we’ll I guess I better pay a few of our bills….One was for our pattern-maker, who is a professional and astute businesswoman.  We’re always looking to make sure that we’re taken seriously, even though we are newbies in the industry.  Just like with your personal account, the bank gives you a couple starter checks to get you going before your imprinted ones arrive.  I open the first check and couldn’t believe my eyes – It was a Tigger check!  OMG – How unprofessional we’re going to look to be paying our bills with Tigger checks!  They can’t all be Tigger checks, can they?  No they were not – but my other choices were Bugs Bunny, Piglet, Yosemite Sam, Yellow Happy Face Guy, etc.  Now I’m trying to decide which check best portrays the image we’re trying for at Smashing!  The pattern-maker got Yellow Happy Face guy and the designer got Piglet!  What do you think this says about us?

The thought did cross my mind – Is Tigger really a good picture for a check – I mean, doesn’t he bounce a lot!
