Time to Get Down to Business

March 17, 2010

Today the three of us had a meeting for about an hour and a half. It had been a little over a week since the three of us were able to meet and sit down together. Since then, a lot of emails and brief conversations passing each other at the club had taken place.

I was amazed at how much we accomplished and how many decisions we made in a little over an hour together. Off our “To Do List”, the following:

Spring Collection Color Selection

Finalization of Separates Design

Top Secret Name Selection for Undisclosed Properties of Something We Can’t Tell You

Identification of Non-Apparel Addition to Collection

Discussion of Future Promotional Events

Identification of Action Items to be completed before next meeting

The irony occurred to me that when we used work an entire 8-10 hour day in the office, the truth is that probably a lot of time could be taken up by office birthday parties, the occasional extra long lunch, co-workers stopping by to chat, and countless other interruptions that could affect your production for the day. Now, we  have so many non-Smashing distractions in our day or week, that we can maximize our work production in one precious hour together. What if we actually had a regular 40 hour work week with all three of us in one office?! We could have this thing wrapped up by next Tuesday!
