Our next step is to have our Pattern Maker mock up a sample for our apparel designs.  With these sample dresses, we planned on playing in them to fine tune the design and make necessary changes to ensure perfection.

After months of an agonizing search for the perfect fabric, we finally found it. We ordered sample yardage that could be used to make these samples, but are at the mercy of whatever color the manufacturer has at the time for the sample. Yesterday, the fabric arrived….

Good news, fabric is here and we can move forward. Bad news, the color is neon yellow. Imagine a highlighter. We know that color doens’t make a difference for these samples, but I have to admit that I felt a bit of relief knowing that I might get out of this one due to my expanding pregnant belly.

My next thought was how everyone was going to think we were crazy bringing safety patrol fashion to the tennis courts. No, nobody can actually see us in this dress before rumors start to spread that we are the Lady Gaga’s on the tennis circuit. Perhaps the safest thing to do will be to sneak out at night and reserve a court time for midnight. We won’t need any lighting, we will be bringin our own.

PS, Buzzkill, not sure if you were serious about the dibs on this one!
