New Year’s Eve Fashion Tips to make you Sparkle!

December 29, 2010

New Year’s Eve is right around the corner and Smashing is offering some fashion tips to make this year the most fashionable ever!

1. The Taller the Better! Make sure your booties or high heels are as high as possible. The latest trends this winter call for sky-high heels. If your heels aren’t at least five inches, then you won’t be considered fashionable.  I realize that this is not very compatible with the Chicago ice and snow (I don’t make these shoe trends, just reporting them) and Christmas Eve when I was navigating an icy sidewalk, I realized that this trend although sexy, not very practical!

2. High-waisted skirts, thank God! This is one of the most flattering skirts and you don’t have to be a size 2 to pull it off. A classic throw back to the look of the 40’s. I hope this trends stays for a while. My post baby belly is in no hurry for anything close to the dreaded low-waisted jean phenomenon creating the most unflattering of silhouettes, the Muffin Top.

3. Add a little Bling to your wardrobe to add a festive sparkle. Who doesn’t feel fun when they have a little bit of glitter on them? Hey, if it works for Tinker Bell, then it can work for you. If you aren’t ready to enter the party in a sequined ball gown, then try adding a pair of shoes, a clutch or a scarf with some glitter glam on them.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU! We hope it is Smashing!
