The Film Studios of Smashing G&T East

October 7, 2011

Today was the day we decided that we needed to spice things up a bit with some amateur videos to better explain the cool features of our line.  So Spinner and I convene at the Smashing East Studios, aka her house, to begin production.

Armed to the latest equipment – a FLIP video camera – we begin the search for the best site in her house.  This is more difficult than you would think, because while Spinner decorates for every holiday, she pulls out all of the stops for Halloween.  So finding an undecorated inch without a skull, bat or spider web has become a bit of a challenge.

I figure that she couldn’t possible decorate her upstairs, but as I follow the skulls up her stairs – I’m scared to find that the theme is never-ending, and certainly a disaster has struck her bedroom!  Guess she wasn’t expecting the film crew to venture upstairs – but we found the only undecorated corner in her house and after she took the pictures off her walls, the filming began. I’m afraid we have more bloopers than actual good footage, as it’s hard when the adorable gaffer needs a snack, as shown here in one of our bloopers.

After many bloopers, wardrobe changes, snack breaks and promises not to film Spinner face without makeup, we finally got a couple of simple videos that demonstrate some of Smashing’s unique features. Still have some editing to do, but I’ve been told we want them to be simple and to get them out here fast.  So here’s the demonstration on what make’s Smashing’s dresses different.

Now we have a few more videos to edit, and always more can be shot – all short little vinettes on our line.  So if anyone has better video equipment and/or editing skills they would like to donate – please shoot me a message.  I’m not sure we’re winning any VMA’s or even a Webby this year.

Have a Smashing Weekend.
